We loved tapping our feet with you all last month at The Greatest Showman, ‘This is Me’ is still ringing in our ears!
Remember that one scene where Zac Efron slights his GF in public because of the judging glances of a mixed-race relationship? Remember how we held our hands to our hearts and thought: Ouch! Poor Zendaya!?
A recent national survey reported that two thirds of LGBT people in the UK are afraid to hold hands in public for fear of a negative reaction. We can easily assume that those living away from the city, in towns like Ballyclare, feel even more wary. This is heart-breaking news and clearly times aren’t as different from The Greatest Showman as they should be.
On September 1st we will be screening the Oscar winning masterpiece Moonlight, a chronicle of the childhood, adolescence and burgeoning adulthood of a young, African-American, gay man growing up in a rough neighbourhood of Miami. Watch the trailer here.
We’d love you to join us for some top-class cinematic viewing but also to celebrate, support and stand with the LGBT community right here.
